HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGER
Trillium Project Management is looking to add an experienced Health & Safety Manager to our growing team. Trillium is a people-first employer with a sharp focus on employee retention and happiness in their role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Educate/communicate any regulatory changes to staff and ensure the safety program accurately reflects them.
Work with employees to ensure they know the associated safety components with their role.
Help prepare and enforce policies and procedures to maintain a professional level of safety within the company.
Work closely with the CSO/OFA group on all matters relating to safety.
Complete inspections of our worksites as required.
Assist Site Superintendents with supervision of the CSO/OFA group.
Communicate trade safety information to the construction management group through regularly scheduled meetings.
Conduct the annual review of the company Health and Safety Program
Be a member of the Trillium JOSH Committee.
Update the company training matrix, organizing training sessions as required.
Run the Quarterly CSO meetings with all safety staff.
Track and make reports on company health and safety statistics.
Complete and/or supervise required incident investigations.
Meet with trade contractors regarding health and safety performance issues and develop corrective action plans.
Work with clients regarding health and safety on their jobsites.
Provide injury management expertise and lead any IM situations.
Advise management on health and safety issues/information/best practices to ensure the safety program is relevant and working well.
Help the company work towards COR Certification.
Other tasks as required by the role.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 7 years of experience working in a health and safety capacity, preferably in wood frame or similar construction.
2 years minimum experience leading workers in a management position.
Strong organizational skills.
Knowledge of Procore Construction Management Software.
Occupational First Aid training is preferred but not required.
CRSP, CRST, NCSO, or other health and safety designation.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, Adobe, Bluebeam, etc.
Strong people skills are required.
Concentrated knowledge of WorkSafeBC Regulation, Policy, Standards, Guidelines, and the Workers Compensation Act.
Excellent soft skills such as communication, teamwork, adaptability, problem solving, and creativity.
The ability to fine tune and streamline the health and safety program.
